Jean-Claude Berrouet is an iconic wine industry personality whose name resonates like a Bordeaux precision craftsman through his skilful interpretations of Petrus. Born in Bordeaux, he graduated as a winemaker from Bordeaux University in 1962. The storied winemaker behind Pétrus, Château Magdelaine, Château Trotanoy and Château Lagrave, he ran the Jean-Pierre Moueix company from 1964 to 2008. Since 2008, he has been an international wine consultant, travelling from China to Argentina via Israel and California. He was awarded the Winemakers’ Winemaker Award by the Institute of Masters of Wine.
