The curves that shape the Douro region are the inspiration for an unparalleled passion that links the Casa das Hortas to its origins. Founded in 1995, and having always focused on quality wines from Baião, Casa das Hortas is one of the oldest companies in the region.
With the Azeredo family’s third generation already being integrated into the company’s management, Casa das Hortas is bigger, better equipped and with a broader vision in dedicating itself to the production, bottling and distribution of wines from Douro and Vinho Verde regions.
Baião, the land that bridges the peak of the Serra do Marão to one of the most beautiful reservoirs of the Douro River, is home to this rich history and immeasurable heritage.
Considered the oldest demarcated Region in the world, Douro is a region of high-quality wines, fruit of the influence of the Marão and Montemuro mountains, which are frontiers to the humid winds of the west. Through Whites and Reds that express the true terrain of the region, the brands Cabeça de Gaio and Vale do Gaio are references to the Azeredo family. The best of what is done in the Douro, especially Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Viosinho and Gouveio, these are distinctive wines with a great presence.
